The URL for my blog is chunkysauce.blogspot.com.
Considering this blog is for a class on Entrepreneurship, it's not a leap to wonder why exactly I would name my blog after something you'd find in an aisle in your local grocery store.
The invention of chunky spaghetti sauce; how it came to exist and it's rise in popularity is an interesting and noteworthy story. In the below video, the story is told by Malcolm Gladwell, an author whose raconteurship is beyond reproach.
Whenever I start to think about entrepreneurship, how to take an idea that's in my head and convert it to a product which can compete in a marketplace, I start with chunky spaghetti sauce: it is a great example of a man who sought to solve a problem which beleaguered a massive segment of the American population, completely unbeknownst to them.
While the innovator and the entrepreneur in this example are separate people, this is merely a technicality: it is the passion for creation and the curiosity about the human condition which drives entrepreneurs to means test their ideas. And, as Howard Moskowitz learned, we must not be afraid to miss the mark, for when our inventions and innovations are not well received, our curiosity only grows.
